Ordnungspolizei vol 1: German Police battalions September 1939 - July 1942
Massimo Aricco
All along the eastern front, police units were also steadily engaged in fierce anti-partisan warfare, security activities behind the lines and in the surveillance of prisoners of war. In several occasions and in adverse conditions, police battalions were moved to the front line, where they ended up suffering heavy losses. This book details every police battalion formed during the period from September 1939 to July 1942. Each chapter deals with a single battalion, including the Series “200” and the "esoteric" territorial battalions. Two "special" battalions are also examined: that is, the Reserve-Polizei-Bataillon "Leipzig" and the Polizei-Bataillon "Ostland". Moreover there are 100 pictures, of which many are previously unpublished. 500pp. Over 100 photos. Large format

SS Schijäger Batallion Norge Norwegian ski hunters on the Eastern Front 1941-44

SS Schijäger Batallion Norge Norwegian ski hunters on the Eastern Front 1941-44
Geir Brenden, Haakon Arne Thomassen
First ever study published on the unknown Norwegian SS-Ski Infantry in the “Nord” division. Complete Order of Battle for all the different Norwegian sub-units in the division. Complete lists of losses. Never before published photos from private sources. Norway was one of the nations producing the highest number of volunteers for the German war machine during WWII. Most of them ended up in the mechanized units belonging to the famous Waffen SS units "Wiking" and "Nordland", but a number of them etched their place in the history books, as members of the elitist sub-divisional units of the SS-Division "Nord", fighting above the Polar Circle during the war. Among these units were the Ski infantry Battalion - the "SS-Schijäger Batallion "Norge". This is their story. 256pp. 200 photos. 7 maps. Large format

SS-Panzer Aufklarungs Abteilung 11 Norland The Swedish SS-Platoon in the Battles for the Baltics, Pomerania and Berlin 1943-45
Herbert Poller, Martin Mansson, Lennart Westberg
First complete account of the armoured reconnaissance battalion in SS division “Nordland” The armour reconnaissance battalion in the SS division “Nordland” fought in varied battlefields; from Ingermanland's snow-clad hills, to the defence of the historic town of Narva. Then further over Latvia's billowing landscape against the Soviet armoured thrusts that were threatening Riga. Later on, the battalion fought in the muddy trenches in Kurland and on the plains of Pomerania. Finally, in the year of 1945, it was to be pulled in and exterminated in the final battle of Brandenburg, in the last desperate defence of the Chancellor's office in Berlin. This unit was unique as it contained the largest concentration of Swedish volunteers in the German army during World War II. This book is the first of its kind about the unit and it presents unique facts and photo material, and is based on diary notes and an original manuscript written by men who participated. 368pp. 225 photos, 30 colour profiles, 25 maps Large format

Tanks in the Winter War 1939/1940
Maxim Komolyets
Tanks in the Winter War is a unique book which is based upon Russian sources and therefore stands out remarkably from other books on the market about the Finnish Winter War. Includes concise account of the Soviet units, their equipment and the commanders and operations. You also get an account of the Finnish defense, the fortifications, the obstacles, the mines and the armours etc. Certainly there have been shelves of books written about the Winter War, but none have described the Soviet units and their efforts, and none have described the tanks used in the conflict. 160pp. 32 colour profiles & 130 b/w illustrations. 5 maps

The uniformed police forces of the third reich 1933 – 1945
Phil Nix & Georges Jerome
Germany did not have a national police force until 1920 when it was formed by the Weimar regime. During the war the uniformed police undertook an important new task when it was used to assist the security police in carrying out duties in occupied territories. To this end a total of 38 police regiments were formed plus local regiments in occupied countries. Police members were used to raise and man 2 Waffen SS Divisions to fight alongside the army. The police was at the core of the civil defence in the Reich providing the organisation for defence against air raids in towns and industrial complexes. Well detailed researched text that includes the complete organisation of the Police Forces of the Third Reich, and detailed biographical information on the most senior offices of the forces. 383pp. 192 illustrations. 1 map. English edition. Large format

Warsaw Vol 2 Tank Battle At Praga July September 1944 - The 4th SS Panzer Corps V's The 1st Belorussian Front
Norbett Bacyk
It is a common misunderstanding that the Red Army, on Stalin’s order, halted outside Warsaw in August 1944 to let the German troops suppress the Polish uprising in the capital. The fact is that on the last day of July (the night before the start of the uprising) the Red Army was on its way into Praga (the east part of Warsaw on the east bank of Vistula) when the German troops mounted a violent counter attack. This started the bitter fight that came to be called The Battle for Praga and was to continue until the end of September when the Red Army finally conquered Praga. By then it was too late for the Polish resistance inside the city. The fighting was among the toughest and most brutal on the Eastern Front during the war. 272pp 160 photos/illustrations. 58pp colour profiles of tank and military vehicles. Large format
